March is Women's History Month
Today is
Cinco de Marcho [Really? That's a thing?]
National Cheese Doodle Day
Susan B. Anthony was a staunch equal rights advocate, and social activist. She was one of the driving forces of the women’s suffrage movement, . She devoted her life to not only fighting for women’s equality but for the equality of all people.
She spent much of her adult life traveling the country, speaking about equal rights, circulating petitions, and helping to organize local women’s rights and labor organizations. Wary of not being taken seriously, she rarely smiled in photographs, appearing stern and severe. She was the first actual woman printed on a U.S. coin, the Susan B. Anthony Dollar, which was minted in 1979–1981 and again in 1999.
The fight for a Woman's Right to Vote lasted over 100 years. Sadly, Anthony did not live long enough to see her dream realized. Women died and were imprisoned for this right. It breaks my heart when so many people don't even take advantage of this hard-fought privilege.

There were three Democratic races today. Two Caucuses in Kansas (33 delegates) and Nebraska (25 delegates), both won by Bernie, and one Primary in Louisiana (51 delegates), which Hillary won by a large margin.
The delegates in all three states will be split (some states are winner take all, but not these), but they have not yet been completely rewarded, because not all the votes have been counted just yet.
There is another caucus tomorrow in Maine, with 25 delegates up for grabs.
For the past 50 years, Kansas has always correctly predicted the Democratic Nominee. No wonder the media has been ignoring Bernie's win in Kansas today! One has to wonder, if Hillary had prevailed in Kansas, would this fact be circulating widely?
CNN is hosting a Democratic Presidential Debate tomorrow night at 8 pm EST. The best place that I have found to see Progressive Coverage of the debates and election results, while they are actually happening in real time, is at TYTNetwork-dot-com/LIVE. [The TILT is "linkless". This can be difficult when I want to share a link. But I am determined to keep The TILT link-free. To get to TYT LIVE, Replace the "-dot-" with a simple period (or dot), in the URL. Sorry for the inconvenience!]

5) Recently a man accidentally shot and killed himself while he and his girlfriend were taking selfies with his gun. For some reason they were loading and reloading it, and somehow, I guess, he lost track, or something. I don't know much about how guns operate to understand how that might have happened. [My take: When will people learn? Selfies can be dangerous.]

The Governor of the island of Bali ordered the mass killing of roaming dogs. Thousands of innocent dogs are killed every year, often suffering slow and painful deaths.
The Governor claims free-roaming dogs will lead to the spread of rabies. But human and animal health experts have proven that culling doesn't work to control rabies. In fact, it can result in the spread of the disease. Often, dogs that have already been vaccinated are among the victims of a mass killing.

7) A woman is suing El Al (Israeli ) Airlines for moving her seat because an Orthodox Jewish man refused to sit next to her "for religious reasons". Orthodox male Jews can't even touch a woman. At Orthodox Jewish weddings, men dance with men, women with women. [One has to wonder…Why didn't the man move, then? Why was the woman inconvenienced?]

8) A recent study of 6400 Air B & B Rentals found that when the renter had a "white" sounding name (Laurie) rather than a "black" sounding name (Latoya), they were 16% more likely to get booked. Also, white landlords could successfully charge 12% more for their rentals than black landlords could.

Yet another use for the sacred herb! Americans they don't know what to do about the contamination from Nuclear Reactors here in the United States. Maybe they should take a page from the Russians. In 1999 Russian scientists planted Industrial Hemp around Chernobyl, and today the plants and animals are thriving.
[I hear that mushrooms eat radiation, too.]

10) Color Televisions were first introduced at about the time that Richard Nixon and John F Kennedy ran against each other for the Presidency. Their first debate was the first time a Presidential Debate was ever aired on National TV. Those who heard it on radio thought that Nixon won, while those who saw it on Television felt that JFK won overwhelmingly.

11) Giant tarantulas keep tiny frogs as pets. Insects will eat the burrowing tarantula's eggs, but spiders eat insects, so the spiders protect the frogs from predators, while in return, the frogs eat the insects and protect the tarantula eggs. I think that's called a symbiotic relationship.

12) Oh, the chutzpah!! Howard Dean is a Super Delegate.
Super Delegates have “Super Powers”, like the power of one Super Delegate equals 10,000 voters. This is completely unfair, and a way that the Democratic elite have stacked the deck, so in case they need to, and the voters select the “wrong candidate”, they will be able to step in and overpower the will of the people with their votes.
Super Delegates were thought up by Democrats. The GOP does not have anything corresponding to the Democratic Super Delegates, although, I have heard the GOP party elite murmuring that they wish they DID have this corrupt system in place themselves, right about now, to give them a way to dethrone Trump. Super Delegates are totally undemocratic, and need to be axed. And here’s why.
After Bernie Sanders' massive win in Vermont last week, Howard Dean tweeted this:
"@BernieSanders Super delegates don't 'represent people' I'm not elected by anyone. I'll do what I think is right for the country"
When Jimmy Dore retweeted Dean's Tweet with a "Holy Fuck" in front of it, Howard Dean immediately blocked him.
When Glenn Greenwald retweeted Jimmy Dore's tweet, Dean blocked Greenwald immediately, too!
[My take: I really don't think that the Democratic elite realize how close they are to losing the entire Left Wing of their party, and the whole thing going up in smoke, just like the Republican party. Progressives are just as unhappy with how the Democratic DC "in-crowd" wants to railroad our vote, and orchestrate a media blackout against the only actual Democrat in the race, as Republicans are upset with the shenanigans of their Washington elite.
Progressives aren't stupid. We can see the orchestrated Bernie Sanders media blackout coming from Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Howard Dean and all those in the inner circle, who are already busy jockeying and preparing for their positions in a Clinton Administration. They have their futures mapped out for themselves, and they aren't about to let a little thing like the "will of the people" get in their way.
They think that we will all fall in line if they let the SuperDelegates coronate Hillary, when the majority of the left wing of the party believes, and all the polls consistently prove that Bernie is, by far, the stronger candidate. There is not one poll that gives Hillary a bigger advantage against any of the GOP candidates than Bernie gets.
Many Democrats are pretty sick of the entire electoral process. From the biased media coverage, to the constant campaign ads, to our politicians being easily bought by the 1%, to the early voting states having extreme control of the nominating process, to the whole Caucus fiasco, to the undemocratic use of Super Delegates, to the hackable voting machines. We "little guys" are sick of it.
I, myself, am thinking of leaving the Democratic Party and becoming an Independent. There are so few Democrats left that I even care to vote for, and the party no longer represents my views. It's hard for me to get behind the DNC when the HEAD of the organization, Ms. Schultz, is in favor of the TPP, and just signed on to a bill which gives Payday Lenders an even greater advantage over the poor, AND she is against Medical Marijuana! I have to ask myself, "What am I doing aligning myself with a party that has these kinds of policies?"
These stances do not represent my views, and are, quite frankly, not even representative of true Democratic principles.
I've been seeing Facebook Memes to the same effect. People vowing to quit the party and become Independents after this election, if Bernie gets shafted by the party elite.
Progressives want change. When the DC insiders start wielding their might, and bragging about the power of Super Delegates, it only brings greater attention to this vastly undemocratic process, and highlights how much it needs to be changed. We will not keep on giving our vote to a party which no longer represents our views. If the party elite continue to ignore us, we will mutiny and jump ship before too long.]

*NOTE* - Please understand that I do not claim to be a “journalist”. I am only passing on bits of information, which others have researched, that drift through my awareness, on any given day. I watch, read and listen to any number of different news and entertainment sources, and it’s more than anyone could possibly intake and retain in a day, so I created this little daily “cheat sheet” for myself, so that I could remember all these oddball facts. Then I decided to share these tidbits, and thus was born the Daily TILT. I do this for fun. I hope you enjoy it.

**NOTE: I purposely do not include links or photos in the TILT. The idea is to not have one story be highlighted above all the others. And sometimes links can be stressful. I, myself, sometimes get conflicted when presented with too many choices, so I thought I'd save you the trouble of having to make any of those types of decisions for a few minutes, while you read the Photo and Link-Free TILT!
I encourage you to further research any story that interests you, though. They are easy to Google.
